For a while I had the idea to make an album that featured predominantly vocal parts and a minimal set of additional instruments. The first time the plans materialised to something more concrete was when I saw and heard the song played during the middle section of the movie “Portrait of a Lady on Fire”. Over the months of writing the songs, the mood shifted gradually, so the result is quite far from that track of the movie soundtrack.
